You can use a DTS package to populate your database from a remote location. Due to security constraints and server integrity; we do not allow local DTS packages in a shared SQL environment. Local DTS packages have the potential of occupying server resources and therefore can greatly affect server stability.
If you are a Dedicated server customer running SQL server, you will have the ability to create local DTS packages. For server stability we do recommend that local packages are frequently monitored.
