Dedicated server and VPS customers. What to do after generating a CSR for a SSL certificate.

After you have placed an order for a SSL certificate you will need to generate a CSR. Once that is done you will need to follow the steps below to submit the CSR for the certificate. 1. Remote into your server and open the windows explorer and navigate to the new CSR you have created and open it and copy the entire contents. 2. In your client area click on the blue 'ssl' box then click on the domain name for the SSL you ordered. It should say 'awaiting configuration' next to it. 3. In the drop down for 'web server type' select your server type or select 'other' if you don't see yours. 4. Paste the CSR content into the box labeled CSR. 5. Almost all of the information under 'admin contact' should be filled in already but MAKE SURE to enter something in the 'job title' box and put a '1' in the first phone number box. Click 'submit' 6. It will bring you to a page that has a drop down window for you to select an email address to send the 'approval email' to. If you don't have any of those list, make sure you create one that is listed. 7. Once you receive the approval email, click on the link then click 'approve'. Once that's done it can take up to a few minutes to a few days for the SSL certificate to be issued. If any additional information is needed by the certificate provider, they will email you.
